Brunch is so much more than a meal. It is the ideal gathering with friends or family, it is an outing you spend your whole week dreaming of and, more importantly, it is a feast where you can fill your boots for excellent prices (usually)! Brunch isn't just eggs and waffles anymore; it's the music and entertainment, the free-flowing bubbles or cocktails (in most cases) and the ever innovating menus that experiment with different flavours and dishes of all cuisines that come with the experience.
Brunch can be causal, or it can be formal; it's however you make it! From waffles topped with duck to Mediterannean classics, brunch is evolving and is the new event everyone needs to be at! Here are some cities and their best spots that are dishing up flavours, style and sophistication at brunch-time!
London 💂
London is home to thousands of restaurants independent and big-name chains. With cuisines of all sorts, many restaurants are jumping onto the brunch trend and adding their own twist.
Duck & Waffle
Make your way up to the 40th floor of London's Heron Tower in Bishopsgate and enjoy both views and delicious food. Although it is a 24-hour restaurant, brunch is only served between 8am and 4:30 pm, but, good news… the brunch menu takes place 7 days a week! Diners can enjoy their signature dish of; a waffle topped with a duck leg and a fried egg served with a pot of mustard maple syrup to drizzle over the weird but wonderful mix! If this doesn't sound like something you would enjoy, pick from one of their many egg dishes or sea bass.
Fancy going bottomless? Well, for £25 more, enjoy free-flowing Bloody Marys, Bellinis, Mimosas or Kir Royales on top of your delicious duck dishes!
Sketch
If you're a bruncher who loves to snap a pic whilst your wining and dining, then Sketch is for you. One of the city's most instagrammable places, Sketch is a gorgeous and quirky restaurant that features different rooms in which guests dine. From the pink palace 'The Gallery' to the 'Lecture Room' that gives sunset vibes.
If you're after a slightly more luxurious affair, then Sketch's afternoon tea is just for you. Relax and unwind in a beautiful space and atmosphere in which a trio of strings will play classical music as you dine. An exquisite array of sweet and savoury treats; delicate cucumber slices atop soft white bread too, miniature, melt-in-the-mouth blackcurrant meringue kisses or colourful Battenburg slices. Pair the mini delicacies with an assortment of handpicked teas, sparkling wines or Sketch's signature cocktails. This high-tea is unlimited, meaning you can request as much as you would like. The classic afternoon tea will set you back £59 per person, with the champagne afternoon tea priced at £73 per person.
